The Client
The client is a software company provides enterprise product for the US market, such as ASP.NET site solutions, Windows Form applications and SharePoint components.
What the Client Wanted
The client designed a redistributable solution for the innovation industry to help them to manage their documents, correspondences and review the creative works.
The Solution
The product was built based on WSS 3.0. We developed the required features and Web Parts and workflows based on the client's design.
This is a product for retail and the install package and software upgrade support is very important. We used SharePoint installer instead of the normal SharePoint “wsp” deployment through “stsadm” command line. When users installing the SharePoint solution, the UI can check all required components and permission, and show options for user to select target environment (deploy to server farm or single site). It will uninstall the pervious SharePoint solution when upgrading a new version.
